MANILA, Philippines – Weather in most parts of the country will be fair as the southwest monsoon or "habagat" will no longer bring as much rain, the state-run weather agency said on Thursday.

Weather specialist Chenel Dominguez of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) also said that it has not monitored any low pressure area forming or entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility in the coming days.

She said habagat will continue to prevail over the archipelago in the coming days, bringing occasional rains over Ilocos Norte, Apayao, and Babuyan Islands in particular.

Meanwhile, Central Luzon, the rest of Ilocos Region, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley will likely have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the same weather system.

It will also affect Metro Manila and the rest of the country where partly cloudy to overcast skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will prevail within 24 hours, the national weather bureau said.
