BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, June 6 (PIA) – Jail inmates here are spending their quality time for the production and creation of various products as a source of their income.
Retired Colonel Fernando Pasion, officer-in-charge of the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Jail (NVPJ) said they are presently offering various livelihood projects for the inmates inorder
to put their quality time into productive use.
These livelihood projects, Pasion said focuses on the production of poultry and mushroom products, vegetables, dishwashing soaps, detergens and assorted handicrafts.
These products, he said were exhibited and sold during the recent Grand ‘Ammungan’ Festival from May 19 to 24 at the provincial capitol grounds in this town.
Trainings and developmental activities were also given for both the jail guards and inmates inorder to transform them as responsible and productive citizens of the community.
“The NVPJ is aware that our personnel and even our inmates need to be exposed to various social activities for them to be fully developed and transformed“, Pasion said. (ALM/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
